The process
How buying a franchise in the United States works
From the first conversation to opening day there are four stages. Here is what happens in each one, what is on you, what is on us, and what nobody serious will promise.
Which door is yours?
Step by step
The four stages, no fine print
- 01
Free diagnostic
You answer a few questions and get a preliminary diagnostic of goal, capital and timeline on the spot. It is the entrance to the process, with no commitment.
- You
- Tell us what you want out of this business, how much you can invest and when you plan to start.
- Us
- We analyze your answers and arrive at the consultation with your case already mapped.
- 02
Building your shortlist
With your profile on the table, we pick brands that fit your capital and the kind of operation you actually want to run. Every option arrives with a profile built from the FDD, the franchisor's official filing.
- You
- Tell us what appeals to you, what is off the table and how much time you plan to give the business.
- Us
- We bring options with numbers and a source, explain why each one made the list and what each model demands from you.
- 03
Discovery day and due diligence
You see the franchisor from the inside, talk to owners already running units and read the full FDD. This is the stage for asking everything, before signing anything.
- You
- Join the meetings, talk to current owners and ask the hard questions.
- Us
- We prepare those questions, sit in on the calls and translate the parts of the document people usually skim past.
- 04
Opening, and what comes after
Once the agreement is signed the practical work starts: financing, legal structure, site, training and, when the case calls for it, the visa route assessed by licensed immigration attorneys.
- You
- Make the calls for your business, now with a timeline in hand.
- Us
- Connect the right specialists, stay on every stage and keep showing up after opening day.
What is always included
- A dedicated consultant on your case
- Franchise options within your capital range
- Connections to financing and legal specialists
- Immigration planning with licensed attorneys
- Support through discovery day and due diligence
- Guidance to opening day, and past it
What we do not do
In a market full of promises, what we refuse to do says as much as what we do.
- We do not promise visas. Eligibility is assessed by a licensed immigration attorney, case by case, on your facts.
- We do not project revenue or returns. Performance figures exist only when the franchisor publishes them in its official filing (FDD).
- We do not push the brand of the month. If nothing on the market fits your case, we tell you that to your face.
- We do not replace your attorney or accountant. We sit at the table with them and with you.
Questions everyone asks
- What does talking to TFG cost?
- The diagnostic is free and carries no obligation. The specialist consultation is scheduled, and we walk you through how it works before you decide, with no surprises later.
- How long does it take from first contact to opening?
- It comes down to three things: the brand you choose, how fast your paperwork moves and whether a visa is part of the path. Instead of quoting a standard timeline, we build the schedule for your case during the consultation, separating what depends on you from what depends on others.
- Do I need to live in the United States to start?
- Not to research and choose a brand. To operate, each franchisor sets its own requirements, and buyers living abroad usually pair that decision with an immigration strategy reviewed by licensed attorneys.
- Do I need experience in the industry?
- For most brands, no. The franchise model exists precisely to hand over the method, the training and the support. What weighs more is your profile, the time you will put in and the capital you have.
- What is the FDD, and why do you keep bringing it up?
- It is the Franchise Disclosure Document every franchisor files in the United States: fees, estimated investment, obligations on both sides and presence by state. It is our source, instead of the brand's marketing deck.
- Can you guarantee I will get a visa?
- No, and be wary of anyone who does. The decision belongs to the U.S. government and rests on the facts of your case. What we do is build a solid business side and work alongside licensed immigration attorneys who assess the route.
